In order to enhance collaboration and cross-functional partnerships, among other things, at this time, our organization follows a hybrid work schedule that requires employees to work in the office 3 days a week, or as directed by their manager/department. Team Intro
The USDS Resiliency Operations Center Incident Lead will report to the USDS Resiliency Lead who manages the USDS Resiliency Operations Center. This position is responsible for managing incidents that are escalated from the business units to investigate, coordinate cross-functional triage and mitigation activities, reporting and communication, and work with the crisis manager if the incident reaches a crisis threshold. The incident lead position will also be responsible for the following areas:
- Manage day to day incident response program operations
- Operations Enhancement for the incident response team
- Training coordination and development oversight for internal and fxn partners
- Project identification, development, and coordination for the incident response program
- Cross Functional coordinator liason
- Provide operational and professional guidance and support to the incident response team
USDS Resiliency Operations Center is responsible for Incident Management, Crisis Management, Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery alignment, and proactive Readiness and Preparedness programming for US Operations.
This position requires the ability to work well under pressure, act quickly, bring the right people to the table, and understand processes to analyze situations accurately.
Responsibilities
- Ensure incident response processes are executed to support incident remediation activities, communications, logistics development, and external stakeholder socialization .
- Communicate incident response concepts and protocols in a digestible manner to non-technical audiences.
- Responsible for tracking/maintenance/advancement of USDS Incident Response Program maturity & support with wider Resiliency Operations Center operation program development.
- Responsible for establishing/ maintaining Incident Response Team rosters, response plans, SOPs, and operational logistics.
- Assist in the design & conduct of incident management training & risk-based exercises/ workshops.
- Monitor existing or emerging threats and risk landscape to support preparedness.
- Participate in incident response activities and escalation to crisis as needed.
- Know incident response plans and procedures, including identification, remediation, containment, and eradication procedures.
- Know Crisis Management Plans and procedures, thresholds, and execute activation procedures.
- Synthesize technical details of critical incidents to executive management and provide immediate containment and eradication recommendations.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors’ Degree or industry equivalent work experience in CyberSecurity, emergency management, or crisis management with a focus on security analytics and incident response.
- 3+ years experience in incident management operations, crisis management planning, and/or exercises.
- Experience with identifying and responding to threats and threat actors.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), ability to influence without authority.
