Data Engineer Lead

Kahoot! is looking for a Data Engineer Lead to strengthen our Data team.

About the Role

We are looking for a person to manage and organize our data engineering function, including our team of data engineers. The main delivery by the team is to deliver a self-service platform being used by large parts of the organization. In addition the team supports the Data Analysts in different functions like Finance, Sales, Marketing, Product etc in utilizing data analytics in their work. In this role, we expect you to have strong logical reasoning skills,experience in business intelligence and a keen eye for detail. Reporting to VP of Engineering, the ability to communicate effectively is essential.

Responsibilities

• Plan, improve and develop the infrastructure / platform for data analytics in Kahoot!
• Enable all in Kahoot! with access to data relevant to their role/domain
• Select, configure and implement analytics solutions
• Lead and develop a team of data engineers
• Manage the building of systems to transform raw data into actionable quality business data
• Keep abreast of industry news and trends
• Contribute to ML /AI-initiatives in the group

Requirements

• 3 - 5 years proven experience as a Data Engineer and preferable as Data Analyst
• BSc/BA in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Management or a related field
• Proficient using SQL
• Proficient using Python and Bash
• Experience building ML models (Scikit-learn, Tensorflow…)
• Experience working with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS)
• Experience using orchestration frameworks (Airflow, Prefect, Apache Beam..)
• Familiarity with BI tools (Looker, Tableau, Thoughtspot, Amplitude)
• Analytical skills and strong organizational abilities
• Knowledge about privacy requirements and information security
• Problem-solving aptitude
• Background in market research and project management
