POSITION SUMMARY:
NIQ is the global leader in consumer and retail measurement with operations in 90+ markets covering more than 90% of the world’s population. The SVP, Head of Strategy and Transformation, Global Retail will be responsible for leading the definition, design, and execution of the firms’ strategy for retail, partnering with a broad set of stakeholders to deliver the plan. The SVP will provide cross functional leadership and collaborate closely with key business partners to execute and refine the strategic plans, transform the retail
business and drive accountability via proactive performance measurement in alignment with NIQ’s overall value creation plan.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead the Retail vertical’s vision, strategy and value proposition design in partnership with
functional leads
▪ Lead and refine NIQ’s global retail strategy globally and gain buy in from key stakeholders, including ELT, Board, and functional partners.
▪ Monitor industry and competitive dynamics, including trends in local and multi-national retailers, manufacturers/CPG companies, and overall exchange of value in consumer and retail measurement.
▪ Understand key competitors, including their value propositions/capabilities and sharpen NIQ’s key value proposition differentiators.
▪ Partner with and influence Product, Operations, and Commercial teams to develop a
perspective on all the levers required to deliver value to retailers in a way that maximizes NIQ ROI and positions NIQ on the cutting edge.
▪ Develop partnership opportunities and identify growth opportunities for the retail business, supporting the execution of inorganic growth strategies for Retail and broader transformation initiatives as needed. Partner cross-functionally to execute the retail transformation agenda
▪ Lead retail transformation in partnership with key stakeholders across defined workstreams to refine the strategy, actions, milestones, and execution plan.
▪ Convert retail strategy into a tactical roadmap that considers interdependencies and sequencing of initiatives to drive impact.
▪ Lead through influence to prioritize initiatives and proactively partner with functional leaders to allocate resources to execute initiatives.
▪ Run a best-in-class strategy and transformation team, identifying leaders that can work within and across teams.
▪ Bring expertise on operating model and organizational design and deploy talent in the most efficient and effective way possible to support initiative execution.
▪ Act as a thought partner to the President, CEO, Board and leadership team, and key functional partners to gain buy-in and support and deliver impact as a team.
▪ Drive accountability and co-own the realization of improved retail economics working
towards overall NIQ value creation plan goals
▪ Ensure accountability of key stakeholders of the plan, measure progress, impact and ROI of initiatives, and develop corrective actions based on execution and competitive shifts.
▪ Setup metrics and reporting cadence that cover all necessary leading and lagging indicators of initiative impact.
▪ Track timeline and impact delivery, highlighting and counteracting risks to either timeline or impact via frequent communication with key stakeholders.
▪ Together with retail leadership team, ensure financial impact of initiatives for global retail
business is achieved.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS: ▪ Strategy Experience:10+ years’ experience including top tier strategy consulting experience, ideally focused on retail, retail products and/or FMCG as well as services.
▪ Cross Functional Leadership: experience in analytics, insights, and strategy development with cross functional and international teams.
▪ Transformation: track record of converting strategies into executable plans and leading the
execution of initiatives that deliver measurable impact.
▪ Industry Experience: exposure to consumer-packaged goods, retail, and/or information
services industries, familiarity with data and analytics trends as well as experience with PE
owned models.
▪ Executive Presence: strong executive presence and the ability to communicate at all levels
of the organization including C-Suite and Board audiences.
▪ Program Management: ability to mobilize plans around key workstreams and drive execution in a strategic manner and provide comprehensive updates to senior leaders on status of transformation, challenges, and successes.
