HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

The Training Manager – Production / Warehouse is responsible for leading and managing the onsite training infrastructure at Varsity Brands’ Production and Warehouse sites. This role ensures successful onboarding, upskilling, and reskilling of production and warehouse employees through a scalable, coach-led training model. The Training Manager – Production / Warehouse collaborates closely with department leadership, HR Business Partners, and the Continuous Improvement (CI) team to align training efforts with operational goals and evolving process standards.

This individual is a trusted partner, known for their interpersonal awareness, adaptability, and ability to drive large-scale training initiatives with precision and care. They are highly proficient at communicating and influencing the importance of training and development, and clearly articulating its long-term impact on business performance, employee engagement, and operational excellence. This role reports to the HR Director.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Lead the full training lifecycle including needs assessment, scheduling, execution, and evaluation; build and sustain a structured training program that supports safety, quality, productivity, compliance, and delivery goals
  • Leverage peer subject matter experts (“coaches”) for onboarding and reskilling; train, audit, and certify them on SOPs, training techniques, documentation standards, and CI-aligned practices
  • Facilitate “train-the-trainer” sessions to equip coaches with the framework, tools, and confidence to deliver consistent, engaging training experiences; ensure both new hires and peers in need of support achieve proficiency in a timely manner
  • Partner with department leaders, HR Business Partners, and the CI team to align training priorities with business needs, support rollout of new/revised processes and training programs, and ensure training reflects updated SOPs and SWIs
  • Communicate the strategic value of training and development to stakeholders at all levels; influence adoption and engagement through clear, compelling messaging
  • Prepare and distribute digital training materials (e.g., instructional content, visual aids, evaluation forms); monitor training progress and effectiveness using Varsity Brands platforms like Workday Learning
  • Maintain training documentation including evaluations, new hire survey feedback, and roundtable summaries; use insights to recommend improvements and identify future training needs
  • Develop and track KPIs to assess training impact; evaluate post-training performance and new hire readiness, providing feedback and recommendations to leadership
  • Communicate performance concerns to department leadership and HRBPs to support expectation-setting; coordinate retraining efforts to address skill gaps and reinforce standards
  • Support compliance and ad-hoc training initiatives
  • Generate and analyze training reports to identify trends and gaps; ensure alignment with strategic objectives through regular communication with Senior Leadership
  • Partner with the HR Director, HR Business Partners, and enterprise Learning & Development partners to reinforce leadership development programs at Production and Warehouse sites, translating enterprise concepts into practical, site-relevant tools and behaviors.
  • Facilitate leadership training, follow-up sessions, and ongoing reinforcement activities for frontline and site leaders; gather feedback, monitor application, and identify opportunities for additional coaching or development support.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
