The general salary range for this full-time position is $80,000 – 115,000. Salary offers will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, skills, training and education.
Humane World for Animals, a global leader in animal advocacy and protection, is seeking a Digital Asset Manager to lead the strategy, governance, and day-to-day management of our global digital asset management system. This role serves as the organization’s subject matter expert in digital asset and rights management, partnering across departments to support fundraising, advocacy, brand, and other strategic priorities.
The Digital Asset Manager will oversee governance and rights management, collaborate with the Office of General Counsel, support internal and external system users, and facilitate asset access for external partners and media outlets to expand our reach and brand visibility. The role will also develop and maintain related policies, practices, and procedures and supervise a Digital Asset Specialist in advancing our digital asset management program.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the front-end and back-end design and administration of the organization’s digital asset management system. Accountable for the proper organization, discovery, and preservation of creative assets throughout their full lifecycle. Increases the organization’s digital asset management capabilities by streamlining operations, optimizing user workflows, upholding governance and metadata standards, and maintaining best practices for digital asset management;
• Develops, implements, and maintains a comprehensive strategy to ensure the continual enhancement of our digital asset management system. Owns the relationship with the system’s developer and leads all updates, customizations, migration, and integration initiatives. Manages and holds accountable external vendors and implementation partners. Drives the system roadmap, requirements, testing, and releases. Manages the implementation and testing of AI tools aimed at improving search functionality and compliance within the system;
• Serves as the staff point-of-contact for the digital asset management system, providing training and support across the organization, and provides technical support services for all internal and external facing properties. Accountable for rights, risk, and compliance workflows. Ensures that rights, and usage information is accurate and current, and also oversees proper tracking and management of contracts and licensing agreements, working closely with OGC and other staff. Oversees the proper metadata tagging of content from various file formats and auditing automated and user-entered metadata. Ensures that all available assets are in alignment with brand standards;
• Manages the Digital Asset Specialist in assisting with the running of the organization’s digital asset management system to ensure that assets from both internal and external sources are categorized, legally cleared, captioned, credited, and made readily available, through constantly evolving workflow processes to both internal and external marketing and communications teams. Oversees the Digital Asset Specialist in the creation and distribution of external photo and video library and press portal accounts used to provide other organizations, including the media, with access to the company’s imagery. Oversees the Digital Asset Specialist in photo and video research and stock purchasing for All Animals, Humane Pro, humaneworld.org and all affiliate websites, and other print and online publications;
• Develops and executes strategies to improve the user experience for diverse staff around the globe. Sets and reports on system KPIs. Regularly performs system audits and runs reports to track usage metrics to identify areas for improvement. Partners with cross-functional stakeholders across Creative, Digital Marketing, Comms, IT and OGC to ensure the system is meeting the needs of the larger organization. Makes sure interfaces and processes meet accessibility expectations for internal and external users. Applies advanced knowledge and techniques to ensure the organization is following best practices related to digital asset management;
• Manages the distribution of the organization’s imagery to a wide variety of external sources. Works closely with the Media Relations and Digital Marketing teams to research, curate and provide our best assets to organization’s press portals, and marketing channels for breaking news situations, press releases, and other priority initiatives and campaigns;

Qualifications and Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in library and information science or related field or equivalent work experience required;
• A minimum of eight (8) years of work experience as a Digital Asset Manager, or similar position required;
