Location: Adult Day Center - Madison
Part Time | 0.4 FTE (16 hours/week) | AM Shift | Monday-Friday | 9a-5:30p

How You’ll Make a Difference (Essential Functions)
The Adult Day Center Caregiver is responsible for participant satisfaction by assisting them with activities of daily living, providing companionship, and passing medications in compliance with state regulations. The caregiver also helps with meal preparation and participant activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Clients with Activities of Daily Living
- Review client care plan and plan day according to case load.
- Assist with ambulation, mobility, and transferring to/from sitting and standing.
- Assist clients with bathroom functions like toileting and incontinence care.
- Assist clients with eating and drinking. Help distribute food.
- Assist clients with showering and dressing, when scheduled.
- Distribute medications at delegation of the manager in compliance with state regulations.
- Document in client care plans.
- Be a Supportive Companion to Participants
- Socialize and engage with participants over games, looking at photos, reading, and other activities.
- In collaboration with other staff, assist with setting up and offering activities.
- Other Duties
- Report unusual incidents or significant client changes to Adult Day Center Manager.
- Complete mandatory education requirements.
- Greet internal and external customers in a timely and friendly manner, notifying appropriate party of arrival and escorting parties as needed throughout the building.
You Bring (Qualifications)
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Previous caregiving, homemaking or personal care work preferred but not required
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to follow client and Agrace directions
- Ability to complete tasks per schedule
- Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with others
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Must have compassion for seniors and a desire to help others
- Ability to complete all training and pre-employment background checks within required deadlines
- Ability to maintain confidentiality about patients, families, caregivers, staff, donors, and organizational intellectual property
- Ability to use proper body mechanics and standard precautions
