We’re looking to build our enthusiastic, passionate and committed team in Somerset! We’re searching for Director/Associate Director Plant. Here’s an opportunity to bring your passion for fragrance and lead a plant.
You’ll oversee daily operations at one of our fragrance manufacturing facilities, ensuring safety, production efficiency, quality and compliance with regulatory standards. This role is designed for an inspirational, strategic leader with a strong background in manufacturing (fragrance or fine chemicals) and team leadership.

Your key responsibilities
- Direct and manage plant operations including health and safety, quality, production, projects and maintenance, continuous improvement and warehousing activities.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve productivity, reduce costs, and ensure timely delivery of products. Monitor and optimize production schedules and inventory levels. Support new product introductions and process improvements.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of managers, supervisors, team leaders and operators.
- Foster a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement. Promote a safe work environment and lead safety initiatives to ensure a high awareness of health and safety culture.
- Develop and manage plant budgets, including labor, materials, and capital expenditures.
- Collaborate with Commercial, Supply Chain, Customer Experience and Sales teams to align production with business goals.
This position will be filled at the level commensurate with the successful candidate's education level, relevant experience and job-related skills. The salary scale provided reflects the pay range dsm-firmenich expects to pay the successful candidate for the position. Individual pay offered will be based on the applicant’s job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and primary work location. Salary $176,300 - $210,000.

You bring
- Minimum 10 years in chemical manufacturing operations required
- Minimum 3 years in a leadership role as a Site Manager/Director or Plant Manager/Director required
- Inspirational leadership and an ability to share and drive vision
- Experience in the fragrance, cosmetics, or chemical industry is highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies
- Bachelor’s degree required, with preference for a technical degree
