Your Specific Responsibilities:
This position serves as an ACCOUNTANT ll and works under the general supervision of the ACCOUNTANT lll - SES. Finance & Accounting and provides professional support and technical assistance to the staff, community agencies, and the general public. This is a highly responsible and independent fiscal position that will provide assistance in managing the department's financial and business functions.
For all counties, as appropriate, plans, directs and coordinates the accounting, collection and billing functions inciuding: recording services; billing for services: monitoring accounts receivable/billing reports; bill flle creation process, processing of payments and denials: and processing client statements.
Audits, analyzes and reviews services for verificalion of all insurance informalion: makes necessary determinations as to correct insurance and processes all claims accordingly: Researches claims for Medicaid. Medicare and other third party insurance, contacting insurance carriers when necessary to re-evaluale claims for payment. Responsible for collaborating with other departments as needed. Reviews claims for CDT, CPT and ICD-10 coding accuracy.
Provides professional billing support and technical assistance to Billing Hub team members:
∙ Responsible for discovering, researching and completing open vouchers for all applicable counties.
∙ Locate EOBS, when necessary, for open or incomplele vouchers in order to accuralely complete posting. ∙ Responsible for updating dental fee schedules in all HMS counties, as applicable.
Maintain working knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, and various lnsurance bllling policies, which includes, but is not limited to, service limitations billable under CBR/managed care and service limitations/billable by billing type.
Other duties as assigned.

Ability to review, analyze and evaluate data
Ability to compile, analyze, and evaluate data and prepare reports
Qualifications:
Minimum -
Must be willing to physically come in the office to perform the duties & responsibilities of the positions
Must have current authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship
Knowledge of dental billing practices
Preferred -
Experience with HMS, MS Word, Outlook, and Excel
Experience with Medicaid, Medicare and various insurance billing policies
Experience verifying insurance and the accuracy of payments
Experience following up on denied or unpaid claims
Experience with CDT Coding
