Job Overview
Under the direction of the Material Leader, The Material Team Leader is responsible for overseeing and coordinating activities related to shift operations. Including, but not limited to: safety, quality, production, employee relations. The Team Lead is also responsible to lead by exception, focusing on identifying and handling cases that deviate from the norm, and eliminate those deviations.
Major Responsibilities
- Shift review with leadership team to include: Visual management, Inventory, Logistics deviations, SWI, 5 Whys and A3, Metrics.
- Training of employees and verification of successful training.
- Maintain safety. If needed, Respond to and investigates all reports of injuries, accidents, illnesses, near misses and property damage immediately.
- Conduct and attend shift transition meetings.
- Monitor and update logs as needed.
- Must be productive and motivated while completing assigned tasks on time.
- Must be flexible and willing and able to learn new things.
- Maintain an acceptable attendance record as per company policy.
- Must be able to work well with others and provide excellent customer service.
- Take on other assigned tasks as needed.
- Performs minor maintenance functions, when necessary.
Qualifications
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Possess a high school diploma or GED.
- Have a minimum of one year warehousing experience preferably in the last 5 years.
- Able to pass Company’s forklift certification program and able to drive various types of motorized lifts.
- Demonstrate strong computer and SAP skills.
- Must have a strong understanding of leadership, problem solving and systems.
- Demonstrate the ability to lead associates and posses strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to develop and deliver reports as required.
- Demonstrate the ability to create, compose and edit written materials.
- Possess strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Must have strong organizational skills
- Displays a positive attitude towards safety, works safely and follows all the Company's safety policies and procedures.
- Must have strong problem solving and decision making skills.
