About the role

Paradigm in seeking a Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to support our client, a global provider of legal services. The Business Systems Analyst is responsible for developing functional requirements based on the lifecycle of a class action or similar matter, then define how the data and business rules will translate to internal applications. Must reside in Washington, or Oregon, to be eligible.

Type: 12 Month Contract
Location: Remote, United States (Required to work PST hours and reside in WA or OR)

As the Business Systems Analyst, you will:

  • Understand the entire lifecycle of a class action or similar matter, determine what data is required based on functional requirements, and define how that data and business rules will translate to internal applications.
  • Develop and publish technical specifications, technical requirements, and other documentation.
  • Design data mappings and transformations which will be used to drive ETL procedures.
  • Work with Quality Control Analysts to design testing strategies and plans to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Query, assess, and analyze data to ensure requirements are being met.
  • Work with various teams (Client Services, Data Analysts, Technical Project Managers) to keep production flowing smoothly.
  • Using tools such as Excel, Access, SQL Server, and others, directly query, assess, and analyze data to ensure requirements are being met.
  • Lead, conduct, or consult in user acceptance test exercises to ensure results are acceptable and meet requirements.
  • Follow prescribed software development standards, processes, procedures, methodologies, etc., according to departmental policies and conventions.
  • Account for and accurately log time against project work.

Requirements

Our skills and experience wish list includes:

  • Four-year college degree or equivalent industry experience.
  • 2 years experience as Business Analyst, Data Analyst, Process Specialist, or other role where business functional requirements are captured and decomposed.
  • Proficient with MS Office tools, particularly Excel and Access
  • Experience with relational databases and ability to comprehend moderately complex SQL logic
  • Basic understanding of data modeling and data organization
  • Basic understanding of and experience with extract, transform, load (ETL) concepts, tools, and practices
  • Ability to multitask and meet quick deadlines
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; must be fluent in English
