Utility Class IV (2nd Shift) - Ft. Smith Plant

Job Details:

Schedule: Monday - Friday, some Saturdays (3:30 PM to 12:30 AM end of shift)

Starting pay rate: $17.45/hour + $2:00/hour shift premium

This position is responsible for performing a wide variety of work as needed when there are open positions within the facility due to absenteeism, vacation, tm's needing to use the rest room, etc.  Other responsibilities include communicating with management and co-workers and processing paperwork necessary to position.  

This position will be exposed to a cold work environment with temperatures ranging from -10 to 55 degrees in the production area to an environment that is tied to what the weather outside is (rain, heat, cold, insects) , wet conditions, slippery floors in some areas, concrete floors and noise levels that are loud enough to require hearing protection. 

•  Must be willing to lift, push, pull up to 95 lbs and stand for up to 8 to 12 hours.  Must be willing to operate equipment necessary to all positions in the production area (forklift, votator, box fill, box machine, raker, floor support, data collector, high pressure wand, etc).
• Must be able to drive the forklift with in 4 weeks in the plant in all areas.
• Must be willing to learn shipping process of short weights computer work and talking on a radio to truck drivers when filling in.
• Must be willing to learn EIM, computer, inventory.
• Must be willing to take and pass forklift operation certification and Lock out tag out.

MUST HAVE OPERATOR EXPERIENCE WITH 6 MONTHS OF CONTINOUS WORK HISTORY IN THE PAST 2 YEARS.

This facility accepts rehires after 180 days and only if the applicant has not worked more than two previous times for Tyson.  Tyson reserves the right to require longer waiting periods or not accept rehires based on the reason for dismissal.
