Job Description for Data Protection Analyst
About the role:
The Data Protection Analyst will play a critical role in the advancement of the organization's data protection strategy. This includes involvement with all data protection alert triage operations, collaborating with engineering teams on technical requirements, and enabling efficient automation of data security controls. This also includes developing precise data analytics solutions that can be used to identify and mitigate data security risks, improve data quality, and assist in making well-informed business decisions. The Data Protection Analyst also works with the Senior Director, Data Protection and other key stakeholders to ensure that the organization's data protection program is aligned with the organization's risk tolerance. The ideal candidate should harness engineering solutions and automation for “fix-forward” solutioning.
Responsibilities:
- Improve and maintain data protection standard operating procedures as well as meaningful global data protection metrics.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to recommend and implement data protection controls according to the needs of the Data Protection Operations team.
- Implement analytical automation techniques to increase Data Protection process efficiency.
- Provide guidance and support to the organization's employees on data protection matters.
- Provide escalation to Insider Threat teams as needed.
- Stay up to date on the latest data protection trends and technologies.
- Consulted on DLP policy creation and maintenance in various DLP technologies.
- Engage with company employees on DLP escalations and investigations.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in data protection, information security, or a related field
- Strong understanding of data protection laws and regulations
- Experience with industry leading DLP and CASB technologies
- Experience with data security controls, and data security incident response
- Experience simultaneously working with multiple data protection technologies
- Experience investigating data loss incidents using data analytics and computer forensics.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Estimated compensation for this position is:
120,000.00 – 144,000.00 USDThe pay range listed is a total compensation range including bonus, if applicable. The provided range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data.
