Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Public Infrastrucure Water Resources team in Houston, TX.  Westwood has a highly experienced and dynamic team of individuals dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients. Our ideal candidate will have 4+ years of diverse Water Resources experience. In this role, you will dive into stormwater modeling, floodplain analysis, drainage, and hydraulic design within the mission-driven team focused on innovation and excellence. As Project Engineer/Manager, you will lead the technical design and manage projects. This role may lead and manage staff and provide mentorship to graduate engineers and designers. Duties and Responsibilities

Work as a key member of our Water Resource and Public Infrastructure team to build upon Westwood's success and innovation:

• Executes water resource engineering projects efficiently.
• Supports water resource development and other civil teams in producing civil plan sets.
• Prepare detailed construction drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Oversee the technical aspects of various projects.
• Identify applicable codes, standards or other design requirements.
• Coordinate with other disciplines, support services and sub-consultants.
• Communicate/manage technical details as well as schedules and budgets.
• Coordinate with government agencies, utility providers or other outside agencies.
• Participate in contract bidding, provide limited observation during construction, review submittal and RFIs.
• Works with city/county staff to approve project plans.
• Implements QA/QC program and ensures compliance within project team.
• Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and allocate resources through differing project stages.
• Administers the construction services portions of projects including RFI response, site meetings with contractors, etc.
• Mentor, train, and/or supervise the work of less experienced engineers and/or technical support personnel.

The compensation for this position is competitive and will be determined based on the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications. Additionally, this is bonus-eligible position, offering further potential for financial recognition based on performance and company success. 

Required Skills

• Demonstrates competence in fundamental civil engineering design principles.
• Water Resource experience includes stormwater modeling, floodplain analysis, hydraulic design, and drainage.
• Experienced in cost estimating, bid phase assistance construction administration, and general construction methods.
• Demonstrates proficiency with current computer-aided design (CAD/Civil 3D) and production software; has the ability to learn new versions of new technology.
• Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet project deadlines.
• Detail-oriented with an ability to contribute to a positive environment.
• Proficient in AutoCAD Civil3D.
• Ability to delegate assignments and determine methods and procedures.

Required Experience (Text Only)

- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering - Minimum of four (4)+ years of total experience in public infrastructure design. - EIT Certification

Preferred Experience

• Licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Texas preferred
• Prepping for and completing PE exam within the next few years
• Local Houston water resource experience
