Senior Software Developer

As a Senior Software Developer at Paymerang, you will get to build cloud-native systems on the AWS platform utilizing Node.js®, React, JavaScript, HTML5, Web Components, CSS/PostCSS, AppSync, and Elasticsearch, among other tools and technologies. You should feel comfortable working with these technologies but also have a desire to learn new ones. In addition, you will act as lead in the operations and organizational design of one of the Development teams, including mentoring, training, and development as appropriate to achieve the department’s goals and objectives.

Responsibilities:

• Direct IT team workstreams
• Lead IT personnel on projects
• Identify, prioritize, and execute tasks in the software development life cycle
• Create and maintain clean, efficient code
• Develop and enhance software design and architecture
• Ensure PCI compliance in architecture and code
• Automate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting
• Review and debug code
• Perform validation and verification testing
• Lead in-person collaboration and whiteboard sessions
• Collaborate with internal teams and partners to fix and improve products
• Document development phases and monitor systems
• Ensure software is up to date with latest technologies

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science
• 4+ years’ experience with increasing responsibility
• 5 years’ experience with HTML/CSS/JavaScript (js)
• 1 year experience with single page apps
• 2-3 years’ experience with web APIs
• 2 years’ experience Node.js
• Security mindset and familiarity with PCI-DSS Security Practices
• Experience leading teams and project-managing work
• Ability to be onsite in Richmond, VA to coach and develop junior developers

Preferred Qualifications:

• Cloud experience using Serverless & AWS technologies (Lambda, S3, RDS, Cloudwatch, SQS, API Gateway)
• Web Component experience
• Application architecture and design patterns experience
• DevSecOps & CI/CD experience
