Fully remote are roles that can be performed remotely, require employees to live in approved states and will have purpose-driven in-person interactions on occasion.

Job Summary
This position is part of a team responsible for planning of the LIPA transmission system from 23kV through 345kVand overall coordination and compliance of elements on the bulk electric system with applicable reliability standards. This position offers challenging opportunities and problem solving scenarios where the engineer will be able to incorporate and observe his or her creative ideas come to fruition. The transmission planning position pioneers the future by recommending, analyzing and integrating various innovative technologies into the system. On the job training and adequate guidance are provided to engineers as needed.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Conduct complex power system design studies (load flow, short circuit, and stability) and financial analyses to compare different alternatives, while ensuring the LIPA transmission system from 23kVthrough 345kV is compliant with governing design criteria and reliability standards, including mandatory North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Bulk Electric System (BES)requirements.
- Recommend the most cost effective transmission plans to meet applicable reliability performance requirements, to adequately serve existing and future electric load and to integrate resource power injections.
- Perform near term seasonal operating studies and system operating limit analyses to support Transmission Operations.
- Conduct long-range transmission studies including study of new capacity resources resulting in annual capital construction programs and system improvement projects and recommend changes to the existing transmission system.
