Salary Range: $105,628-$185,582
The Senior CHB Manager is responsible for leading the branch’s import and customs brokerage operations to achieve service, compliance, revenue, and profit goals. This position ensures efficient air and ocean import operations while maintaining full compliance with federal and international regulations. The role also drives operational excellence, team development, and supports commercial growth through collaboration with internal stakeholders and clients.
Responsibilities
- Direct all import and brokerage operations to ensure cost-effective, efficient service delivery aligned with service commitments.
- Oversee consistent application of SOPs, audit programs, and import compliance measures.
- Collaborate with Sales and Branch leadership to drive revenue from customs-related services and support RFPs.
- Ensure new customer onboarding is seamless and all regulatory considerations are met.
- Support business development efforts with pricing, service design, and regulatory insights for prospective clients.
- Supervise Import and CHB Managers and supervisors; provide coaching, training, performance management, and team development.
- Allocate resources, assign responsibilities, and ensure adherence to deadlines and quality standards.
- Develop succession plans and foster a culture of compliance, service excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure branch activities comply with CBP, FDA, USDA, and other regulatory agency requirements.
- Lead staff training on CHB policies, SOPs, and regulatory updates.
- Determine and deliver appropriate compliance training programs across all staff levels.
- Monitor and ensure achievement of KPIs, including entry accuracy, timeliness, and customer satisfaction metrics.
- Address operational issues quickly and effectively; serve as point of escalation for complex brokerage matters.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- 5–7 years of experience in international freight forwarding or customs brokerage, including 4+ years in a management role.
- Strong understanding of CBP regulations and import compliance standards.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and work effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders.Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skil
- Understanding of TSA regulations and bonded warehouse operations
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations including cargo handling and customs compliance.
Essential Job Functions
- Skilled in data management, KPI analysis, and reporting.
- Effective communication and presentation skills for engaging internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience with logistics systems and software (e.g., LOGSTAR, IFS).
- Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to lift up to 25lbs
- Ability to travel overnight up to 10%
- Ability to travel and meet in office requirements
- Ability to identify operational risks and improvement opportunities.
- Capable of working in a high-pressure, dynamic logistics environment.
- Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate international time zones and 24/7 operations.
- Ability to work in an office environment majority of the time.
- Complete and assist with the completion of assigned tasks/projects in a timely manner.
- Comply with all Company policies and procedures
