About the role

We are looking for an Associate, Corporate Venture Capital Fund.  This Associate will support Thomson Reuters Corporate Venture Capital (CVC) investment activities and portfolio support delivering both strategic insights and financial return to Thomson Reuters.

About the Role

In this opportunity as an Associate, Corporate Venture Capital Fund, you will:

  • Work as a key member of the investment team, conducting market research and performing investment diligence
  • Help identify new market trends and source investment opportunities
  • Organize and present research results and write investment memos to inform investment decisions
  • Support the team in company pitch meetings, be responsible for detailed notes and follow up communications
  • Model financial performance, cap tables, exit analysis, and scenario planning for new investments and existing portfolio companies
  • Maintain hygiene of our internal systems including deal sourcing pipeline and CRM
  • Work closely with portfolio founders on company-building activities such as competitive analysis and product intelligence
  • Travel to some industry events 

About You

You’re a fit for the role of Associate, Corporate Venture Capital Fund, if your background includes:  

  • Passion for B2B Enterprise Technology and startups with 4-6 years of professional experience
  • 2+ years of Venture Capital / Private Equity experience
  • MBA with experience in Finance preferred
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to take charge of identifying information sources, gathering, and interpreting data, executing analysis, and presenting findings
  • Comfortable in dynamic fast paced environment and able to multitask
  • Excited to learn and you roll up your sleeves to work on a range of both strategic and tactical challenges
  • Excellent verbal and written communicator, and listener with the ability to condense complex topics into clear digestible content

  • New York, Dallas or Toronto preferred
