Job Description Summary

The Neurosurgery Clinical Research Division (NCRD) seeks a full- time, registered Clinical Research Nurse (CRN) to support the department’s research endeavors. The selected candidate will primarily serve the brain tumor core, but could cross over into other Neurosurgery studies. The selected candidate will be integral to the team, working under the guidance of Physician Investigators and collaborating closely with other members of the study team. The successful candidate will comply with all policies relating to UPHS, JCAHO, GCP and other regulatory standards. This position will be primarily based at Hospital of University of Pennsylvania (HUP) and Perelman Center for Advance Medicine (PCAM). The position includes managing unit clinical research nursing including screening, enrollment, and monitoring of study participants, review results from study related procedures such as laboratory testing, administration of the Investigational or study specific medication, completion of source documents and case report forms, documenting and reporting of non-serious and serious adverse events, preparation and assistance during monitoring visits and audits, and sponsor reporting. The successful candidate will act in lead capacity for the nursing aspects of study protocols including overseeing and participation of in-services to other nurses, providers, and allied health personnel within the health system, delegate to research coordinators/assistants who provide study related support.

  • Ensure proper screening and enrollment of all study participants, including administering informed consent and confirming subject study eligibility prior to participation
  • Ensure proper reporting of serious and non-serious adverse events to the Sponsor and all applicable institutional or study related committees
