Job purpose
Responsibilities include general accounting, financial planning & analysis (FP&A), accounts payable, SOX compliance, audit requests, and special projects. The position reports to the Senior Controller and is located at the new Battery Systems plant in Hazel Park, MI.
Key responsibilities
This position works closely with accounting team on month end close and special projects throughout the month.
- Assist in monthly reporting including Actuals and Forecasts analysis.
- Work with Senior Financial Analyst to complete month-end journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Assist in preparation of budget and long-range plan.
- Participates in the fixed assets control and inventory.
- Monitor key balance sheet accounts (working capital) and income statement.
- Special Assignments – Support SAP implementation project in 2023.
What we’re looking for
- Working towards a Bachelor in business, preferably with a specialization in Finance or Accounting
- 0-2 years of professional experience (includes internships)
- Must be willing to work up to 30 hours a week
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of SAP and/or Hyperion a plus.
- Strong oral/written communication skills
- Must be detail oriented with excellent organization skills
