Automation Business Analyst

 (P1-P2)

The Automation team are responsible for finding, assessing, and developing automation solutions within Lilly’s business service towers, and consulting with teams on the most effective approach to leveraging technology to automate and enhance their processes and procedures. Solutions can range from RPA to cognitive intelligence or data analytics.

The Analyst is responsible for working collaboratively with our business service towers to identify efficiency opportunities and pinch points in existing processes; qualify these via a business case and support the identification of an appropriate technology solution to deliver realizable and tangible savings and enhance the way in which each business tower operates.

The Analyst will detail the requirements for a successful solution and work with the business to validate these requirements and support them through the deliver lifecycle.  The Analyst will be a point of contact for the business towers to support them in relation to ideas, projects and live solutions.

The role will be highly visible regionally and globally and will require the ability to communicate with key stakeholders at all levels and from a mixture of technical and non-technical backgrounds.

The individual will be a proactive and driven self-starter, with the appetite and passion to help drive change across Lilly and influence the way in which our key stakeholders think about their own processes. They will play a key role in ensuring that automation becomes a core competency at Lilly.

Responsibilities

  • Helping build and execute the automation vision and strategy for each of Lilly’s business service towers

  • Partner with key stakeholders within the business service towers to identify automation opportunities through gaining insight into key processes and assessing their feasibility for automation

  • Lead interviews, meetings or workshops and define critical success factors, requirements, and candidate designs

  • Advise on the most optimal technology or software for an automation solution

  • Support business and development teams in testing activities, including integration testing, end-to-end (business process) testing and UAT

  • Problem-solve issues that arise in day-to-day running of automation processes and provide timely responses and solutions as required

  • Support the Automation Lead and Technical Lead throughout the project and automation lifecycles

  • Act as a technology consultant to each tower – offering coaching where the opportunity to ‘self serve’ arises, further expanding Lilly’s automation culture

  • Develop and monitor scorecards and roadmaps with each tower

  • Communicate and identify any potential risks and issues to Automation Lead accordingly and provide actionable inputs to mitigate

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Business, Management Information Systems or Computer Science

  • 5+ years experience in either a finance, supply chain, technology consulting or a business analyst type role


Additional Preferences

  • A strong grasp of technologies such as Automation Anywhere and Python as well as the Office 365 technology stack e.g Power App, Power Automate and Power BI etc

  • The ability to diagnose business problems and clearly articulate how technology can be the solution

  • Experience with Six Sigma process improvement tools and techniques

  • A strategic thinker that can contribute to strategy setting as well designing and monitoring KPIs, playing a key role in the automation team achieving our targets and goals

  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities as well as teamwork and influencing skills

  • Excellent interpersonal communications skills; able to effectively communicate, manage key stakeholders, build relationships and influence end users, peers, management and third parties

  • The ability to operate in a dynamic environment; managing multiple deliverables, prioritizing and ensure timely completion of projects
