McCain Food’s facility in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin is a large-scale food processing plant, employing approximately 500 employees. This site specializes in the production of a variety of potato products such as mashed, smiles, emojis, tater tots, French fries (sweet and white potatoes)

 

Position Summary

To manage the production, quality assurance, sanitation, safety, and production planning operations of the Plover plant to accomplish required production within approved operating budgets and quality/sanitation guidelines and to provide positive and proactive leadership to all cost, quality, sanitation, and safety improvement efforts.

 

Essential Duties:

  • Plan Manufacturing Department activities to achieve the overall Plant goals and Company mission.
  • Lead and monitor the development of methods to assure efficient execution of approved programs, activities, and processes.
  • Ensure implementation of Company policies and procedures as they relate to all production, quality assurance, human resource, sanitation, and safety efforts.
  • Plan, implement, and monitor manufacturing operations to meet scheduled production volume requirements.
  • Direct Manufacturing operations to meet all production requirements with respect to cost, quality, safety, and sanitation. 
  • Ensure a safe work environment and promote continuous efforts to improve the effectiveness of the plant safety improvement process. 
  • Ensure adherence to all Company and external quality assurance and sanitation guidelines.
  • Direct and lead efforts to continually improve the Manufacturing costs and quality of all products.
  • Support and ensure implementation of all Human Resources policies and requirements.
  • To develop Departmental employee relations by continuing communications of all information affecting them and through the conducting of departmental safety meetings so as to develop a safe and healthful working attitude.
  • To maintain open lines of communication between departments and employees to enable the Factory to remain a union-free environment.
  • Recognize exemplary employee performance.
  • Continually strive to foster a “Teamwork” environment that provides open and honest communication across all levels.
  • Identify and coordinate training opportunities for all department employees.
  • Manager, or his/her designee, is responsible for annual and/or ongoing training.
  • Solicit, review, implement, and promote process and product quality.
  • improvement ideas.
  • To direct or assist in the design of Factory improvement or capacity expansion projects.
  • To prepare, or assist in the preparation of, appropriations with memoranda of 
  • justification.
  • Develop and implement strategies for cost savings, waste reduction, and
  • optimum.
  • Continually develop knowledge related to innovations in the food processing industry.
  • Prepare and submit necessary reports to McCain Corporate in Lisle and Plant Managers.
  • To prepare and submit reports on a timely basis, including Key Performance Indicators, annual operating and Capital budgets, and to work within these budget guidelines.
  • To diligently work on, and strive for operational efficiency through Profit Improvement Programs, Cost Improvement Programs, McCain Quality Performance, and other mechanisms for cost improvement.
