Position Overview
United Health Services (UHS) is seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to be the welcoming face of our care team. $17.05 - $22.17 per hour, depending on experience-----
Job Responsibilities:
Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a friendly and professional first impression at every interaction.
Deliver high-quality customer service in person, over the phone, and through electronic messaging platforms.
Accurately perform patient registration, appointment scheduling, and insurance verification in accordance with UHS policies.
Monitor patient wait times and communicate delays or updates clearly to patients and clinical staff.
Answer patient inquiries while maintaining strict confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Reconcile and balance the cash drawer and batch financial transactions daily with accuracy and accountability.
Review and manage the financial work list, addressing discrepancies or outstanding items as directed.
Monitor office supply levels and proactively restock or place orders to maintain a well-equipped workspace.
Scan and upload documents into the NextGen system in alignment with established UHS procedures.
Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front desk and waiting area.
Support compliance with Joint Commission, NYS Department of Health, Infection Control, and all relevant regulatory standards.
Actively participate in office-based Performance Improvement initiatives to enhance service quality and operational efficiency.
Position Qualifications:
Minimum Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred:
Previous medical, administrative and customer service experience
Proficient PC skills
Knowledge of Medical Terminology
