Summary of Job Duties:

• Provide accommodations and modifications to traditional coursework in order to make the learning accessible to each student
• Assist traditional chef instructors with hands-on activities involving 3D students
• Provide homework help and reminders as necessary
• Promote the program and recruit student mentors
• Assist with maintaining appropriate relationships with the licensing bodies
• Maintain appropriate working relationships with traditional instructors
• Attend faculty development seminars
• Assist with periodic program reviews
• Assist with maintaining accreditations
• Represent the 3D Program on various assigned committees
• Assist with UA-PTC, CAHMI Special Events
• Engage in the ongoing processes and activities necessary for evaluation and professional development of faculty
• Promote the goals of the school and the program both internally and externally.
• Assist with career placement services
• Assist the Director and Associate Dean in all ways necessary to grow and maintain the integrity of the program
• Promote the mission of University of Arkansas-Pulaski Technical College
• Other duties as assigned


Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s degree from an a regionally-accredited institution
  • Commitment to the mission of the comprehensive two-year college and its role in total community development
  • Excellent organizational, computer and communications skills
  • Understanding and commitment to equal access/equal opportunity
  • 2 years of Culinary, Baking and/or Hospitality experience
  • 2 years of experience working with Special Education students

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field from a regionally-accredited institution
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing collaborative learning and student-driven curricula, as well as social interdependence approaches to learning
  • 5 years of experience working with Special Education students
  • Experience working in an Inclusive Post-Secondary Education Program
  • Teaching certificate for State of Arkansas
