Electrical Instrumentation Tech

Schedule:  Our plant has two schedules.  You will be assigned to a schedule based on availability.  DuPont Schedule 4 days on, 7 off, 4 nights on, 3 off, 3 days on, 1 day off, 3 nights on, 3 off. 12-hour shifts.  Our day shift is Monday – Friday from 7:00AM – 3:00PM. 

Where will you work: Onsite at our Wingate or Four Corners Plant depending on availability – Wingate: 1295 Duette Road | Duette, FL  34219 - Four Corners (FCO): 11200 State Road 37 S. | Bradley, FL 33835 (both are unionized sites)

As an E & I technician, your role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical, electronic, instrumentation, and automation equipment throughout the plant or mine. You’ll work with everything from lighting to motors, following safety standards and collaborating with the team. Additionally, you’ll be inputting work requests into our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).  You will thrive in this role if you are detail oriented with the ability to work in an outdoor industrial work environment with exposure to varying temperatures from below 32 degrees to above 85 degrees Fahrenheit.

  • Maintain and Repair: Use hand tools and testers to maintain and repair motors, starters, drives, low-to-medium-to-high voltage systems, and instrumentation throughout the entire plant. Common voltages include 480 volts and 4,160 volts.

  • Troubleshoot and Calibrate: Visually troubleshoot and use varied testing equipment to assess all EIA systems across the Plant or Mine. Adjust hardware to maintain the interface between automation and operations as needed.

  • Work Orders and Emergencies: Handle regular work orders and respond to emergencies throughout the Plant or Mine. Maintain cleanliness in work areas.

  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform maintenance on equipment that monitors flow, temperature, density, and pressure.

  • Effective Communication: Daily communication with area supervisors to prioritize and delegate tasks. Share findings with management.

  • CMMS Utilization: Follow verbal or written instructions from supervision and management. Input data into the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) as required.

  • Safety Awareness: Remain vigilant about issues that could impact fellow workers’ safety or the environment.

  • Additional Responsibilities: Includes updating assets/BOM and drawing as needed

What you’ll need: ​

  • High school diploma or GED preferred

  • 4 years’ experience in Industrial Electrical, Instrumentation and Automation or completion of an accredited Apprenticeship Program in Electrical, Instrumentation, Automation Systems

  • Basic computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

  • Organized

  • Ability to work independently or as a team

  • Ability to accept and follow all safety procedures

  • Data entry skills

  • Ability to safely move in and through work areas, including climbing stairs, maintaining good balance, being mentally alert, having good visual acuity and safely working at heights

  • Ability to safely work in and around heavy industrial environment, including moving objects, concentrated chemicals and transport vehicles

  • Complete Pre-Job Workplace Examinations

  • Responsible for the safe and compliant storage, inspection, usage of tools and equipment

Bonus points if you have the following:

  • Associate degree in vocational, electrical, instrumentation, or automation

  • IBEW apprenticeship and Phosphate industry

  • Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) programming/software
