Our Construction Management Group is growing! In response to the steady growth of our team in the West Region (Arizona, California, Washington) GHD is looking for a Staff Construction Manager with on time and budget delivery capabilities.  You will help provide GHD’s construction phase support services to new and existing clients on multiple simultaneous projects with a construction value of up to $15M each. This position will be located in the Santa Rosa California office, but may involve travel and support to the following offices, Phoenix, Eureka, San Luis Obispo, and Redding, CA.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in: 

• Supporting the construction management team for our water projects (i.e. pumping stations, pipelines, treatment facilities, etc.), transportation projects (roads, trails, traffic improvements), as well as coastal, environmental, energy projects throughout the region. In addition to your support during the construction phase, contributions may include involvement in the planning, permitting, design, and procurement.
• Communicate between project teams, clients and contractors to deliver projects safely, on time, at or under budget, and to the client’s expected standard of quality.
• Serve as a project contact and grow strong client relationships
• Responsible for constructability and biddability during design and help develop project construction schedules and estimates based on risk evaluation.
• Review the contractor’s compliance with project permits, design specifications, and drawings.
• Generate project meeting agendas, take meeting notes, prepare minutes, and send to project stakeholders.
•  Work with DIR labor classifications and review certified payroll for compliance.
• Generate quantity take-offs and calculations using the project drawings.
• Collaborate with design Engineers in the office and field to generate limits of work, proposed quantities, Engineer’s estimates, and other design considerations.
• Utilize  project drawings, layout proposed improvements in the field in preparation for the Contractor’s work.
• Measure various work in the field to help document the work performed by the Contractor.
• Document and digitize the quantities of the work performed to assist with the preparation of progress pay estimates.
• Manage document control including processing project correspondence, documents, and drawings; preparation of various technical reports.
• Draft appropriate responses and/or recommendations on construction issues; consult with engineering staff on technical matters.
• Review, document, and prepare Construction Change Documents, Change Orders and dispute resolution on behalf of the Construction Manager and coordinating with the Design Engineer, as required.
• Conduct and coordinate project closeout activities
• Coordinate equipment and process startup, testing, and optimization
• Implement th financial performance of our consulting services contract, including invoicing, budget tracking, progress reporting, and change management
• Support construction inspectors in the field to provide GHD processes assistance, hardware and software support, safety program compliance, mileage tracking, and other quality control.
