  About this job:
  Responsible for improving student achievement by providing individualized support to schools, leading professional learning communities for teacher leaders and school leaders, designing and leading district professional learning for teachers and partnering with Directors of Schools. Collaborates within department to provide thought partnership in embedding Culturally Responsive - Sustaining Education practices in the development of curricular resources and content-specific coaching of educators across the District.

What You'll Do:
•    Cultivates a deep understanding of and investment in Culturally Responsive  -Sustaining Education (CRSE) practices with key stakeholders (e.g. school leaders, teacher leaders, teachers) across the District in support of equity for all students
•    In partnership with the academics team, develops and facilitates cycles of professional learning in CRSE for the District and its school teams to ensure schools meet measurable student outcomes tied to district priorites, such as rigorous standards-based instruction, culturally responsive teaching, instructional systems and data-driven instruction
•    Facilitates learning cycles across schools, including collaboratively setting learning goals, engaging in observations and coaching leaders
•    Models exemplar culturally sustaining practices for teacher leaders, such as instructional planning at the unit and lesson level, data meetings and feedback conversations
•    Analyzes district local assessment data and classroom observations and uses it to inform school support
•    Works collaboratively to achieve actionable and observable results at the student level; contributes to a strong team culture grounded in district values and a commitment to excellence and service to schools
•    In collaboration with the multilingual education team, develops professional learning and coaching opportunities for teachers and leaders on best practices for supporting the achievement of multilingual learners
•    Supports with district curriculum adoption and implementation
  What You’ll Need:  

• Bachelor's Degree - Education or related field - Required
• Master's Degree - Education or related field - Preferred
• Three (3+) plus years of teaching experience in Culturally Responsive education - Required 
• Two (2) years of experience in coaching other teachers - Required
• Three (3+) plus years previous experience working in an urban district with Multilingual Learners - Required
• Proficiency with Google applications and Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Effective time management and organizational skills
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Effectively handles multiple demands and competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Cutlural sensitivity with familiarity in estabilishing inclusion
• Ability to work as a member of a team in a collaborative, influential capacity
• Familiarity with culturally responsive teaching theory, research and practice and an understanding of the social, cultural, and historical context of educational inequity
• Capacity and responsibility to be culturally responsive with affirmative attitude toward cultural difference
• Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high quality education.
