Summary
Manages the quality assurance program in support of software products and services for medium to large software development projects. Develops policies, procedures, processes and audit sequences to support customer requirements.
Your role in our mission
- Manages the analysis and documentation of defects, questionable functions, errors, and inconsistencies in software program functions, outputs, online screens and content; manages and ensures defects are corrected in a timely manner.
- Develops more complex trend analysis on key full life cycle development processes and quality indicators to meet business needs.
- Manages the reviews of current quality audit processes/systems; manages the research and implementation of new or improved testing methods, processes, tools and systems. Ensures systems and processes meet total quality management and industry standards and are aligned with company strategic goals.
- Manages the trial and qualification of new applications, equipment’s, and processes against pre-defined quality standards to ensure appropriate applications are used for business processes.
- Manages, develops and maintains relationships with customers; analyzes customer concerns and issues and addresses issues appropriately and promptly.
- Manages quality management activities for projects to ensure adherence to quality, cost and schedule parameters of the project/program.
- Manages evaluation of work products to assess quality. Researches alternative solutions to problems, determines proper approaches and recommends course of action(s) to appropriate parties.
- Selects and hires employees. Trains and evaluates employees to enhance their performance, development, and work product. Addresses performance issues and makes recommendations for personnel actions. Motivates and rewards employees including providing salary increases, bonuses and promotions within allocated budgets and company guidelines.
- Prepares, recommends and oversees development of operating and personnel budgets. Monitors spending for adherence to budget plans, develops and recommends variances. Performs and/or oversees budget analysis.
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Master's degree in business administration, computer science, mathematics, engineering, management information systems or related field preferred
- Twelve or more years of experience in quality assurance, engineering, or management information systems
- Eight or more years of leadership or supervisory experience
- Experience working with quality management principles and practices and software development methodologies
- Experience working with process improvement plans
- Experience working with quality metrics and software industry metric data collection and analysis techniques
- Experience working with development tools, processes, approaches and/or techniques
- Experience working with project management methodology, problem management tools and measurement model development
- Experience working with testing methodologies
- Experience working with budgets and budget analyses
What you should expect in this role
- This is a remote opportunity with regular travel to Sacramento, CA, annually (not to exceed 25%).
The pay range for this position is $113,200.00 - $161,700.00 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
