  • Working at night or on weekends will make you eligible for shift differential. To be eligible for shift differentials you must work 4 hours into the shift time to get the differentials (Monday - Thursday 3p – 11p = $4.50 per hour and 11p-7a = $4.75, Friday - Sunday 11p - 7a = $7.00 per hour, or Saturday – Sunday 7a – 3p = $6.00 per hour and 3p – 11p = $6.50 per hour)

The Registered Charge Nurse reports to the Nurse Manager.  Under general supervision, the RN Charge provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process.  This role delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the healthcare team to achieve desired outcomes. As assigned, this position provides department/shift leadership. 

Duties Include but not limited to:

Monitors assessment of documentation and management of age-appropriate patient care through the use of the nursing process. Monitors stabilization and documentation of patient’s responses with attention to age and developmental level. Demonstrates well-defined organizational and time management skills. Promotes positive relationships. Follows and enforces accepted patient safety practices and observing safety guidelines and safe work practices.

Additional Job Description

Education: Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred but not required

Licenses/Certification: Current license as a Registered Nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) with the American Heart Association is required.
