Technologist 5 (AUKUS ) -- BWX Technologies, Inc (Nuclear Fuel Services) - Erwin, TN
Major Responsibilities:
Works on technical assignments relative to selected areas of design, analysis, testing, production planning or manufacture of very complex technology. Has technical responsibility for interpreting, researching, planning, executing, and coordinating assignments that are given in terms of broad general objective. May act as a lead person for other technologists mutually working on the same project. Makes recommendations or decisions on problems and methods to resolve important questions to plan and coordinate work.
Representative Responsibilities:
1. Plans and directs the efforts on a project or projects of major significance.
2. Has lead responsibility for maintaining and improving the process of a major program.
3. As an individual contributor, conceptualizes, plans, and executes research or investigations into complex issues.
4. Develops processes, materials, and/or equipment and fixtures as well as lead problem investigations in any related area.
5. Keeps abreast of new technical/non-technical methods and developments in area of expertise and/or assigned areas of responsibility for purpose of recommending modifications and improvements.
6. Maintains liaison with individuals and units within or outside the organization with responsibility for acting independently on technical matters pertaining to the area.
7. Performs assigned work in a timely manner with a high degree of accuracy.
8. Assists in the training of new personnel
Educational Requirements: B.S. or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience Requirements: Fifteen (15) years related experience.
Additional Job Qualifications
Ability to effectively communicate complex technical information in writing and verbally. Ability to work both independently and as part of a multifunctional team. Performance of engineering technologist role with responsibility for developing plant modifications and technical design requirements for assigned systems. Knowledge/experience in reviewing design documents as it relates to configuration control/management of change for physical plant modifications. Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance. Must be a US citizen with no dual citizenship.
Pay: $85,000 - $134,000
The base salary range for this position in Tennessee (US-TN) at the start of employment is expected to be between $85,000 and $134,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience
