Job Description
The Automation Maintenance Manager is responsible for developing and implementing maintenance procedures of warehouse automation equipment and systems and manage Maintenance staff across our North American facilities. The department’s primary objective is to support the operation of DC automation equipment through continuous Preventative Maintenance and timely repairs as needed. This position will work extensively with AMR, Shelf Goods to Person technologies as well as vacuum assisted lifting, conveyance, and sortation technologies. The position will work closely with DC Operations leaders and third-party partners/contractors.

Duties and Responsibilities
- The Automation Maintenance Manager position is responsible for daily equipment and building maintenance support
- Identify and/or solve operational issues with conveyance and robotic equipment while implementing continuous improvement and LEAN initiatives, to strengthen team unity, goals, productivity and results
- Hire, supervise, develop and manage performance for technicians and maintain a positive employee relations environment
- Develop maintenance procedures and ensure implementation
- Carry out inspections of facilities to identify and resolve issues
- Check electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems of buildings to ensure functionality
- Plan and oversee all repair and installation activities
- Allocate workload and supervise maintenance staff
- Monitor equipment inventory and place orders when necessary
- Monitor expenses and control the budget for maintenance
- Manage relationships with contractors and service providers
- Keep maintenance logs and report on daily activities
- Act as the primary interface with our equipment manufacturers for troubleshooting, parts ordering, equipment upgrades, and technical visits
- Responsible to secure and maintain accurate spare parts and usage data.
