Production Supervisor (2nd Shift)

General Function:

Silgan Dispensing is seeking a safety-oriented Production Supervisor to oversee Team Leaders and employees. The ideal candidate will be exceptionally organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated. We seek a proactive supervisor with excellent communication and problem-solving abilities to oversee the direction, coordination, and evaluation of their team. This role requires maintaining safety standards, adhering to organizational policies, and complying with relevant laws. The right candidate will demonstrate a strong drive for success and a commitment to safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor safety conditions and behaviors on the production floor to ensure compliance and a safe working environment.
• Oversee quality control processes, including troubleshooting, decision-making on rework and rejection, and implementing corrective actions.
• Manage personnel activities such as safety protocols, scheduling, coaching, development, training, and conducting team meetings.
• Collect and analyze production data using graphs, spreadsheets, and software to drive operational improvements.
• Schedule production activities efficiently to meet production goals and customer demands.
• Conduct daily inventory counts, audits, and variances to maintain accurate inventory levels.
• Utilize root cause analysis to identify and implement solutions that align with industry and governmental standards. Delegate tasks effectively to resolve issues related to employee concerns, technology problems, scheduling conflicts, quality issues, inventory management, and customer/vendor relationships.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution OR 4-6 years of relevant experience and/or training. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will also be considered.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles is preferred.
