About the role
Contribute to the achievement of the Chubb Global Casualty Segment business plan. The Senior Underwriter is responsible for production, underwriting and maintenance of new and renewal domestic casualty loss sensitive accounts within a defined territory. In addition, the Underwriter is responsible for establishing and cultivating business relationships with brokers and clients within the assigned territory to assure the continued flow of new business opportunities while representing all Chubb Global Casualty segments and products responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Utilizing appropriate skills and tools to underwrite large deductible complex new and renewal business. Conducts in-depth underwriting analysis and determines best course of action on a risk specific basis.
- Handle existing book of established Workers Compensation, General Liability, and Auto Liability business in the Midwest Region. Work with local, regional, and home office management to renew accounts annually
- Delivering on New and Renewal business goals as outlined by management.
- Executing on marketing strategy which includes:
- Client & broker relations including sales calls and in-person meetings
- Completing Target Account responsibilities and Cross Sell Strategies
- Achieving all underwriting standards as outlines by all applicable Underwriting Guidelines and Authority Statements.
- Working with credit management on collateral terms and conditions that fit the needs of our customers and align with our credit guidelines.
- Managing assigned broker relationships and territories.
- Demonstrated technical expertise and product specific knowledge with experience handling Commercial or National Casualty insurance lines.
- Ability to be creative and adaptable in a changing business environment.
- Experience with Broker Relations and Customer Management.
- Negotiation and Presentation Skills.
- Experience developing and executing on marketing plans and prospecting initiatives.
- Strong Interpersonal, communication and relationship-building skills.
- Travel required for client and marketing meetings.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years underwriting experience preferred.
