Job Summary
We are seeking an early-career Staff Accountant with 1–2 years of accounting experience to support month-end close, general ledger accounting, and financial reporting across multiple legal entities. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or newer professional who has foundational accounting experience and is looking to grow their skills within a stable, healthcare-focused organization.
Key Responsibilities

Support the month-end close process, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement review

Prepare and post journal entries for home office, intercompany, revenue, reserves, and other general accounting transactions

Reconcile general ledger accounts monthly and maintain accurate supporting documentation

Review financial statements to ensure proper classification and accounting treatment of revenues and expenses

Assist with chart of accounts maintenance and general ledger updates

Generate routine and ad-hoc reports to support leadership and financial analysis

Collaborate with internal departments and respond to external audit requests

Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and documentation

Consult with company personnel on basic accounting-related questions

Adhere to company policies, procedures, and HIPAA requirements
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college or university

1–2 years of Staff Accountant or related accounting experience (including internships or entry-level roles)

Solid understanding of general ledger accounting and financial reporting fundamentals

Proficiency with spreadsheets and accounting systems

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Effective written and verbal communication skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Experience
-
Experience in healthcare, senior living, or long-term care accounting (preferred, not required)

Exposure to month-end close and account reconciliations
Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Fully in-office position supporting a 24/7 healthcare environment

Occasional extended hours or weekend work may be required during close periods

Regular use of standard office equipment

Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform repetitive hand motions

Ability to respond effectively to fast-paced operational needs
