Primary Objective:
The Director of Product Sales is responsible for driving profitable revenue growth and managing full P&L accountability for MoboTrex’s manufactured traffic control cabinets, signals, and related equipment. This senior leader will shape and execute the strategic vision for market expansion, lead the dealer sales network across the United States and Canada, and identify growth opportunities with OEM customers. The Director will serve as a key business partner to internal business units and executive leadership, ensuring alignment of sales strategies with corporate objectives. The ideal candidate will bring a strong blend of technical expertise, proven commercial leadership, and a track record of delivering measurable business results in the transportation or traffic control industry.
The Director of Product Sales is responsible for driving revenue growth through the strategic sales of MoboTrex’s manufactured traffic control cabinets, signals, and related equipment. This individual will manage and expand relationships with our network of dealers across the United States and Canada, work with internal business units, and cultivate opportunities with OEM customers. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical acumen and proven sales expertise, preferably within the transportation or traffic control industry.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Drive strategic growth. Define and implement long-term growth strategies, market representation plans, and channel development initiatives to achieve revenue, margin, and profitability objectives. Lead the creation of annual budgets, sales goals, and monthly forecasts, ensuring performance against financial targets and overall P&L accountability.
- Shape the vision. Develop and communicate a compelling strategic vision for product sales that strengthens MoboTrex’s market position and deepens relationships with dealer networks, OEM partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Lead execution at scale. Provide executive oversight of inside sales operations, processes, and personnel. Ensure seamless flow of customer insights into product, engineering, and marketing functions to drive continuous business improvement.
- Build strategic partnerships. Establish and maintain relationships with key decision-makers across dealer organizations and OEMs, positioning MoboTrex as a trusted long-term partner. Serve as the executive face of the company in customer interactions, negotiations, and industry forums.
- Foster accountability and culture. Champion a high-performance sales culture by setting clear expectations, establishing accountability frameworks, and driving alignment across cross-functional teams to deliver on organizational goals.
- Expand market influence. Build and maintain strong relationships with channel partners, industry stakeholders, and technical leaders to expand the company’s influence and identify growth opportunities.
- Provide executive technical leadership. Oversee technical sales support, including strategic product presentations, high-value quoting, and proposal development for complex customer opportunities.
- Anticipate market shifts. Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and regulatory changes to identify risks and proactively capture emerging opportunities.
- Align internal collaboration. Partner with product development, engineering, and marketing teams to ensure customer needs directly inform innovation and go-to-market strategies.
- Develop organizational capability. Oversee product training and development programs for dealers and internal sales personnel to enhance knowledge and sales effectiveness.
- Represent the company externally. Travel (approximately 50%) to support customer relationships, represent MoboTrex at trade shows, and elevate brand presence across North America.
- Ensure compliance. Conduct business in full compliance with company policies, governance standards, and industry regulations.
- Other executive responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related field (preferred); technical or engineering background strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of sales experience, with at least 2 years in a technical or industrial sales environment.
- Experience in the transportation industry or with traffic control equipment is highly desirable.
