The Team: The Team Lead, Sustainability Solutions Specialist in New York plays a vital role in fostering strong relationships with our clients in the Corporates Segment while expanding our market presence. This role is dedicated to understanding the unique needs of businesses in the region and collaborating within S&P Global Sustainable1 and across other divisions to deliver a comprehensive suite of sustainability solutions tailored to their objectives. This team will be responsible for defining and executing the sales strategy for the Corporates Segment in North America, driving new sales, achieving sales targets, directly managing the Corporates book of business, as well as supporting retention and account growth.
The Impact: Reporting to the Head of Americas, in this role you will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of companies across North America and will ultimately be accountable for achieving new sales and retention targets for Sustainable1 within the Energy division. This role will support our suite of Sustainability solutions, with a primary focus on Climate Risk & Opportunity, Sustainability Performance, Benchmarking Services, and Regulatory Reporting. Working across both existing relationships and new logos, the role requires you to be a team player, self-starter, and trusted advisor to deeply understand unique company challenges and the regulatory landscape. You will consult with customers about S&P’s Sustainability services suite to evangelizing solutions that will help them reach their business goals.
Responsibilities:
- Achieve and exceed sales quotas for the North America Corporates team.
- Achieve net growth for the existing book for the North Americas Corporates team.
- Manage a team of sales executives and account managers to drive regional and segment results.
- Assumes a long-term, integrated perspective while also driving attainment of monthly and quarterly sales results, including short-term results, sales forecasts, and sustainable strategy for the designated territory ensuring both short-term and long-term success.
- This role will work in partnership with the marketing and business line leaders to establish clear, customer-oriented value propositions for the entire suite of sustainability solutions targeting our clients.
- Identify opportunities to drive top line/revenue growth of the business by leveraging existing products and integrating customer feedback and intelligence from the market to the relevant stakeholders. Strong focus on cross-sell opportunities with other commercial leads.
- Ability to drive go-to-market campaigns and support the commercial team in developing and prioritizing commercial campaign activity
- Share accountabilities with the marketing function for improving the individual customer experience, go to market strategy and achievement of sales revenue targets.
- Stay well-connected with customers and the market to ensure that broad market needs are being incorporated into product development.
- Enhance and promote cross divisional collaboration with other S&P Divisions.
- Take a leadership approach to communicating our sustainability value proposition and market leadership to the industry customers and potential partners. Actively participate in industry conferences and events, engage with influencers, and thought leaders, and act as an S&P Global brand ambassador.
- Manage multiple, complex projects simultaneously.
- Collaborate and work with different members of the account teams in S&P Global Market Intelligence, the primary partner for this role outside of Sustainable1, to recommend custom solutions for customers.
- Be entrepreneurial and stay current with industry news to develop marketing initiatives and devise and create client events to attract prospects and build pipeline.
What We’re Looking For:
- 8+ years of proven experience in a new business sales, and sales leadership
- Experience managing a large team of sales and account management professionals.
- Proven track record of managing a forecast, driving pipeline activity across a commercial team.
- Experience in Sustainability and/or SaaS enterprise sales with a focus on solution selling and large ticket deals.
- Must be able to understand and clearly communicate the company vision and the revenue strategy across all relevant functions and ensure the right goals are defined and met.
- Proven track record of selling successfully within Non-Financial Corporations.
