Job Overview
The Lead Factory Service Representative is responsible to guide a small team of underground service technicians in the support of the MC51 R&D product at mining customer partner trial sites and through the commissioning of new products at customer sites through North and South America. The position is a combination of supervision and mentoring along with hands on work which includes the commissioning, testing and overall productivity of MC51 R&D products and components. The team will provide timely troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of mechanical and / or electrical aspects of the products and components at customer site according to defined specifications, monitoring productivity data/results to drive towards company productivity goals and working with the R&D design team to provide feedback on issues, changes, or future design considerations. The position location is flexible within the U.S. but will be required to travel frequently to customer sites within the U.S., Canada, South America on assigned schedule rotations when working at the customer site. Support will be provided for travel visas as required.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Coaches, motivates, trains, evaluates, and leads team members to accomplish the goals and objectives of the machine validation projects.
- Build relationships with customers and supports them to achieve the best safety and productivity with the MC51 machine.
- Assembly of the hard rock MC51 machine.
- Commissioning of hard rock MC51 machine.
- Inspection and complete tests of MC51 machine prototypes for proper functioning.
- Training of the users in the use of the MC51 machine.
- Training of the users in the maintenance and repair of the MC51machine.
- Engage with engineering teams to determine specific customer design needs.
- Hands on support to machine fault finding and breakdowns underground.
- Completes accurate time records, technical reports, failure reports, and parts lists.
- Support the sourcing and supply of inventory required during machine trials at customer sites.
- Ensure planning of machine trial to maintain maximum productivity including resources, inventory, engineering support.
- Builds strong relationships with internal and external customers to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
- Complies with Komatsu safety policies and applicable government, customer or industry regulations or requirements.
- Monitors vacation schedule to ensure appropriate coverage.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Technical certification or diploma in mechanical or electrical fields
- 5 years or more of related maintenance, troubleshooting experience with underground mining industry-specific equipment
- Experience coaching and mentoring other employees
- Knowledge of hydraulics and electrical systems with ability to read/interpret equipment schematics
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Ability to facilitate technical training and impart detailed information
- Computer literacy
- Flexible, self-motivated with demonstrated initiative to meet customer needs
- Superior customer relations and active listening skills
- Ability to work varied shift schedules
- Ability to travel up to 50% of time to different projects in North and South America
- Required to work underground and complete mine site clearance requirements
- Valid driver's license and passport
- Clear criminal record with ability to obtain travel visas as required.
