OnsiteThe Interiors Division of Collins Aerospace, a Raytheon Technologies business, is looking for an EH&S Generalist for its Lenexa, KS location! The successful candidate will report directly to the site Senior, EH&S Manager but must be able to work autonomously with little direct oversight.
This role acts as a partner in EH&S by formulating and administering EH&S plans, procedures, and providing EH&S Program Management, has responsibility for multiple EH&S specialties, may perform tasks associated with Health/Safety and Environmental/Compliance, and coordinates with business partners for EH&S concerns regarding facilities and employee practices. Other responsibilities include organizing and maintaining EH&S policies to achieve and maintain compliance with regulations and will manage relationships across other functions and departments to achieve and maintain compliance with EH&S regulations and RTX requirements.
What You Will Do:
- Apply knowledge of the EH&S disciplines to provide advice, support, and technical guidance on moderate to complex issues.
- Manage site environmental compliance program such as Air, Water, Hazardous Waste (LQG and RCRA), Chemicals (EPCRA/TSCA/TRI) and associated procedures and reporting necessary to ensure compliance with all applicable environmental regulations, site permits, and corporate requirements.
- Support the EH&S Management Committee to implement the RTX EH&S Management System.
- Maintain records, reports, statistics, and other data relevant to EH&S performance.
- As needed, participate in regulatory inspections, and provide appropriate documents and records.
- Assist in site Occupational Health program, Worker’s Compensation activities, the return-to-work program, and Industrial Hygiene monitoring.
- Prepare regulatory reports for submittal to various regulatory government agencies including recordkeeping and monitoring confirmation prior to certifying compliance.
- Represent assigned programs in the site’s collaborative Management of Change process to ensure risks associated with facility, equipment or process modifications are avoided, controlled or otherwise minimized.
- Explain and interpret EH&S regulations to achieve and maintain understanding.
- Improve site culture by utilizing Human Organizational Performance Principles.
- Identify opportunities eliminate and control hazards to prevent injuries and illness and improve site safety.
- Develop and provide EH&S training as required by legislation or Collins/RTX requirements.
- Leverage continuous improvement processes and tools to improve EH&S performance.
- Participate in or lead incident investigations.
- Adhere to the RTX Code of Conduct.
- Proactively drive initiatives and ensure the achievement of organizational and departmental goals.

- Communicate effectively through verbal and written channels with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Identify and resolve technical issues effectively to support organizational goals.
- Continuously apply new knowledge and skills through training, research, and hands-on experience
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
- Microsoft Office
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Experience working with the Environmental Protection Act
- Relevant experience in a manufacturing/engineering environment
- Project management experience
- Continuous Improvement experience e.g. CORE, Six Sigma, LEAN etc.
