Clinical Quality Innovation Manager
CadenceAbout the role
In the U.S., 60% of adults – more than 133 million people – live with at least one chronic condition. These patients need frequent, proactive support to stay healthy, yet our care system isn’t built for that level of attention. With rising clinician shortages, strained infrastructure, and reactive care models, patients too often end up in the ER or the hospital when those outcomes could have been prevented.
At Cadence, we’re building a better system. Our mission is to deliver proactive care to one million seniors by 2030. Our technology and clinical care team extend the reach of primary care providers and support patients every day at home. In partnership with leading health systems, Cadence consistently monitors tens of thousands of patients to improve outcomes, reduce costs, and help patients live longer, healthier lives.
ROLE OVERVIEW
The Cadence Health team seeks a Clinical Quality Manager to play a critical role in enhancing the patient experience and ensuring the highest standards of clinical quality in a technology-enabled care model. This role blends deep clinical expertise with a product-oriented mindset—approaching clinical quality not just as oversight, but as a system that should be intentionally designed, continuously improved, and built to scale.
The Clinical Quality Manager will not only execute audits and quality oversight, but will also help define the future state of clinical quality at Cadence. Partnering closely with Product, Engineering, Operations, and Clinical Leadership, this role will contribute to evolving workflows, smarter use of data and automation, and scalable quality systems that support growth while maintaining clinical excellence.
This role is ideal for a clinical quality leader who thinks like a builder and problem-solver. We are looking for someone who naturally asks: If we were designing this quality program from the ground up, how would it work? Which steps add true clinical value, and which should be automated, simplified, or eliminated? What technology or tooling would materially improve accuracy, efficiency, and clinician experience?
This role operates during core business hours and may require occasional flexibility to support audits, coaching, and operational needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Core Responsibilities
- Apply deep clinical experience with a product-oriented mindset to design, iterate, and execute routine and targeted quality reviews, treating audit workflows as systems that should continuously improve efficiency, effectiveness, and clinical accuracy.
- Continuously evolve audit approaches by defining problems, testing improvements, and evaluating how clinical interactions, documentation, and workflows can be better assessed through optimized processes, automation, and tooling—while maintaining alignment with Cadence protocols, quality standards, and regulatory expectations.
- Provide timely, detailed, and supportive feedback to clinicians based on audit outcomes.
- Maintain precise, HIPAA-compliant audit notes in accordance with Cadence processes.
- Identify trends, performance gaps, and opportunities for improvement using audit insights and operational data.
- Coordinate with the Compliance team on documentation audits, time tracking QA, and adherence to clinical and regulatory standards.
- Support Compliance in quality assurance processes, including chart reviews and preparation for internal or external audits.
- Partner with Training & Education to inform onboarding, competencies, and ongoing clinical education.
- Collaborate with clinical leadership on performance improvement plans and coaching frameworks.
- Participate in root-cause analyses, safety reviews, and corrective action initiatives.
- Work cross-functionally with Product, Operations, and Engineering to define, design, and improve quality workflows and tooling, bringing a clinical lens to system architecture, automation opportunities, and long-term scalability.
Systems Thinking, Innovation & Scale
- Approach clinical quality challenges with a first-principles mindset, questioning legacy processes and identifying opportunities to eliminate manual, duplicative, or low-value work.
- Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Operations to design scalable quality workflows, tooling, and reporting.
- Translate clinical quality needs into clear problem statements, requirements, and success metrics.
- Evaluate existing and emerging technologies (including automation and AI-enabled tools) to improve efficiency, accuracy, and consistency.
- Identify bottlenecks in quality processes and propose pragmatic, technology-enabled solutions.
- Serve as a clinical thought partner in shaping future-state quality systems.
