POSITION SUMMARY
Empire State Realty Trust (ESRT) is actively seeking a meticulous Construction Cost Estimator to enhance our project planning and financial forecasting. In this role, you will be instrumental in analyzing project documents to craft detailed cost estimates, evaluating contractor bids, and steering contract negotiations. You will collaborate with internal project managers and leasing personnel, as well as external engineers, architects, and clients to ensure that projects not only meet but exceed our standards for quality, timeliness, and budget adherence.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review project plans and specifications to determine the scope and objectives of the project
  • Conduct site visits and collect data on materials, labor, equipment, and other factors that affect the project cost
  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates using various methods, such as unit pricing, parametric estimating, or computer software
  • Analyze and compare contractor bids and quotations and select the best offer
  • Negotiate contracts and change orders with contractor, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients
  • Monitor and update project costs and budgets throughout the project lifecycle
  • Prepare and maintain cost reports and documentation
  • Identify and resolve any issues or discrepancies that may arise during the project
  • Communicate and collaborate with project stakeholders, such as project managers, leasing staff, engineers, architects, and clients

  • Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
