Senior Energy Efficiency Engineer

Resource Innovations is seeking a Senior Energy Efficiency Engineer to support our team in Salt Lake City, UT. As a Senior Energy Efficiency Engineer with Resource Innovations, you will local utility efficiency programs to assist commercial and industrial utility customers implement energy-saving projects (e.g. upgrades to the facility’s lighting, HVAC, refrigeration, compressed air, process equipment systems) by providing energy analysis, measure recommendations, project identification, incentive estimates, and supporting customers through the participation path. You will work directly with commercial and industrial customers to promote energy efficiency, drive participation, and maximize achieved energy savings to achieve program goals. The Senior role also includes supervision over junior engineers including hiring when necessary, onboarding, training, and regular day-to-day support.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide technical analysis of equipment, systems, energy and efficiency at commercial customer facilities
- Engage with commercial and industrial customers who seek energy improvements.
- Identify gas and electrical efficiency improvements to customers’ facilities and provide actionable recommendations. Emphasis will be on HVAC & Controls technologies. Familiarity with lighting, envelope, refrigeration and other systems is beneficial.
- Find opportunities and support customer participation for delivering client-contracted energy savings quotas.
- Listen to customers’ ideas and guide them toward cost-effective solutions to reducing their energy usage.
- Support planning and design activities focused on new technologies for program improvement and evolution
- Clearly document processes and strive toward continuous improvement.
- Follow program guidelines and processes (pre-approval, energy analysis QC, timely reports, etc.)
- Travel to customer locations (up to 25% travel) and meet with customers both solo and as part of a team
- Earn and maintain client and customer trust to continually build relationships and implement energy savings recommendations
- Provide constructive feedback to team members and proactively solicit feedback from others
- Conduct measurement and verification (M&V) activities on customer sites for installed energy efficiency measures
- Adhere to all safety policies
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in building systems, construction, engineering, or related technical discipline
- 4+ years of work experience in either HVAC design, building controls, or identifying, selling, and implementing energy efficiency improvements.
- and, demonstrated ability to calculate energy savings, return on investment, and payback for efficiency projects
- Demonstrated ability to identify and analyze mechanical and electrical systems for commercial and industrial facilities including; HVAC, lighting, motors, compressed air, refrigeration
