Salary:  $126,714 - $134,433 

Responsibilities:

• Conduct soil and rock data analysis (for geotechnical baseline reports), engineering risk assessments, and perform detailed engineering calculations and technical modeling on software programs such as UnWedge and SLIDE and provide recommendations on design. 
• Plan project schedules, manage team deadlines, and deliverables, and attend meetings and site visits. 
• Confirm field design is completed as per drawings and work plans in conformance with project specifications. 
• Evaluate and identify key aspects of the current site conditions and perform effective field observations and develop condition assessment reports for the client. 
• Define problems in the conceptual engineering design options, perform research such as review past relevant projects and drawings, site visits, and compile results, and for recommendations. 
• Devise new approaches to problems encountered and communicate the information to inside and outside the firm. 
• Coordinating with internal and external team members and third parties for permitting of work and potential project sites. 
• Assign and review work of staff to ensure project requirements are satisfied, and mentor Engineer Interns. 
• Position may include additional duties that utilize the required skills. 
• Telecommuting permitted up to 60%; employee must reside within normal commuting distance of company’s office in New York, New York. Position requires incidental travel to unanticipated field sites within the State of New York.

Qualifications:

• Requires a Master’s or foreign equivalent degree in Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a related field, and three years of experience in:
• Reviewing geotechnical design submittals, including foundation reports that address retaining wall design, seismic design and construction concerns, for the Design-Build Phase ensuring Quality Assurance and Quality Control on projects pursuant to client requirements; 
• Reviewing contractor submittals, plan clarifications including geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring plans, and geotechnical reports including geotechnical investigation and hydrogeological reports, and data ensuring Quality Assurance and Quality Control; 
• Researching, collecting, and reporting on existing structural and geological information and ground conditions found in construction record drawings and historical publications; 
• Conducting geotechnical investigations including logging soil borings and rock cores, installing ground water monitoring instruments, and recording ground water readings; 
• Assisting in conducting geotechnical design and engineering analysis based on geotechnical lab data, and developing drawings including utility surveys, specifications, calculations including settlement analysis, technical memoranda, and geotechnical baseline reports; and
