In the 2024-25 school year, the KIPP Jacksonville region will be comprised of four schools educating more than 3,000 students, kindergarten through twelfth grade in the North and West sides of Jacksonville, Florida.

• KIPP Impact Academy: Kindergarten - 4th grade, 6th - 8th grade 

• KIPP VOICE Academy: Kindergarten - 8th grade 

• KIPP Bessie Coleman Academy: Kindergarten - 8th grade 

• KIPP Bold City High School: 9th - 12th grade

For the current school year, teachers at KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools work the following hours Monday through Friday and may have occasional meetings or special school events outside of these hours. Hours for teachers and students may vary slightly by school.

• K-8 Staff: 7:30am - 4:30pm K-8 Students: 8:00am - 3:30pm, Wednesday K-8 dismissal is at 1:30pm 

• High School Staff: 6:45am - 3:45pm, High School Students: 7:15am - 2:30pm, Wednesday High School dismissal is at 12:30pm. 

Every Wednesday is a student early release day, which allows teachers to participate in weekly professional development and content team meetings. *This doesn’t include Wellness Wednesdays when all staff leave at student dismissal.

Job Description

KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools seeks an academic interventionist who will focus on reading for 9th - 12th grade students at KIPP Bold City High School. The interventionist focuses on supporting students as an extra layer of support beyond their core academic instruction. The interventionist role includes but is not limited to, pulling small groups, tracking academic progress, ensuring students are accessing blended learning pieces that support their growth, partnering with classroom teachers to ensure student interventions are effective, and other duties as assigned.

All teachers are responsible for creating a positive classroom environment, implementing our curriculum, assessing students, collaborating with their team, building relationships with our families, and other duties as assigned. Full teacher responsibilities are ultimately outlined by their School Leader. 

Because the interventionist supports the RtI process for multiple grade levels, the model and schedule can vary slightly.

• Our current starting salary for a first-year lead teacher is $50,000*

*This role will be eligible for instructional stipends like TSIA and Milage - which equated to about $15,000 for NTK employees in the 2023-24 school year.

Qualifications

Requirements of the position include:

• Bachelor's Degree 

• Relevant Florida Teaching Certification or Equivalent (English 6-12)

• Reading endorsement reflected on FL teaching certificate

• At least two years of teaching experience with a proven track record of
