About the role:
Boston Scientific in Maple Grove is looking for a Senior Production Manager to join their team. The Production Manager is responsible for providing leadership to a team of employees committed to enhancing quality and productivity. The manager supports the business unit’s demands, identifies and analyzes areas of opportunity, and plans tasks and corresponding solutions. In addition, the Production Manager provides guidance to their team members for their development, performance, and productivity. Compiling and communicating reports on team achievements to leadership will also be an integral part of the manager’s role.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Optimizes the use of systems to achieve customer service level and financial targets.
- Plans and allocates resources to ensure optimization of customer service targets, inventory levels, procurement delivery and costs.
- Promotes quality and customer satisfaction in all department activities.
- Uses the tools and resources available to meet customer production needs based upon sales forecast.
- Brings together functional resources to meet production goals.
- Develops, manages, and monitors department budgets.
- Drives functional excellence initiatives, delivering high quality functional deliverables.
- Intuitively identifies technical risks and acts proactively to reduce negative impact on product and projects.
- Partners with Finance, Human Resources, Quality and Production Planning to optimize department performance.
- Monitors compliance with company policies and procedures (e.g. compliance with FDA, BSI, EEO regulations etc).
- Develops direct reports by securing appropriate training, assigning challenging tasks, applying disciplinary action as appropriate, and conducting written and verbal performance reviews.
- Maintains personnel records (e.g., work schedules, vacation schedules, leaves) and makes or directs modifications in the database to reflect actual changes.
- Promotes a high-performance, inclusive culture within a quality focused environment.
- Champions new ideas and approaches and who creates an environment that encourages and supports innovation.
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years of production/operations leadership experience
- Strong people leadership skills with experience managing a large, diverse team
- Proven ability to direct and control the activities and budget of one or more functional areas
- Ability to foster an inclusive workplace that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential
- Experience coaching and developing direct reports
- Experience with monitoring/ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures (e.g. federal/country and regulatory requirements).
- Thorough understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
Preferred qualifications:
- Thorough understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Operational Excellence Principles
- Project Management experience
- Master’s degree (minimum of 3 years of production leadership experience)
- Medical device industry experience
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization
