We're seeking an exceptional technical leader who can define enterprise-wide architecture strategy while collaborating hands-on with platform engineering teams. As our Chief Architect, you'll drive architectural standards across all engineering teams while serving as a key member of our Senior Leadership Team, reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer.

What You'll Actually Do

Define architectural vision: Establish enterprise-wide technical architecture strategy and roadmaps while driving adoption of target state architecture across all engineering teams.

Lead governance excellence: Formalize architectural governance processes, review boards, and enforcement mechanisms while setting standards for scalability, security, and maintainability.

Drive technical leadership: Provide architectural guidance to Infrastructure, DevOps, and engineering teams while facilitating reviews and design sessions across the organization.

Collaborate on platform services: Guide development of shared microservices including identity, content management, and message bus while improving platform reliability and performance.

Enhance developer experience: Design and implement internal developer platforms, automation initiatives, and technical debt reduction strategies that eliminate developer friction.

Scale platform organization: Make recommendations to build high-performing platform engineering teams while fostering culture of innovation and technical excellence.

 

Qualifications

What You Bring to Our Mission

 

The leadership foundation:

• 15+ years in enterprise architecture, platform engineering, or senior technical roles
• 8+ years in VP-level or equivalent leadership positions managing technical teams
• Healthcare industry experience with deep regulatory compliance understanding
• SaaS platform experience at scale with multi-tenant architecture expertise

The technical expertise:

• Cloud-native mastery: AWS/Azure/GCP, microservices, containerization, and serverless architectures
• Platform engineering: Kubernetes, service mesh, API gateways, and developer tooling expertise
• Modern practices: DevOps, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and automation implementation
• Healthcare technology: HL7, FHIR, HIPAA compliance, and healthcare data standards knowledge

The strategic competencies:

• Strategic thinking: Ability to translate business strategy into actionable technical architecture
• Executive presence: Strong communication skills with C-level stakeholders and board members
• Influence without authority: Drive adoption of standards across autonomous teams
