Summary Description:
The primary responsibility of this position is to assist with accounting processes necessary to prepare financial statements that meet all regulatory and accounting guidelines. You will be responsible for identifying and preventing discrepancies and helping set up control systems. This position primarily provides support to the Controller, but also works closely with other Finance, Operations, Sales, Marketing, Human Resources, IT and Executive leaders in the Company.
Duties:
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of accounting for all assigned legal entities (USA, CAD, AUD).
- Prepare or oversee preparation of monthly reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts for all assigned entities. Review all reconciliations with upper management.
- Compiles consolidated monthly financial statements on a timely basis.
- Manages Accounts Payable team; manages payment documents (checks, wire transfers, EFT, etc.) to ensure proper documentation exists and files are maintained to be compliant with audit expectations.
- Responsible for 1099 processing.
- Manage Accounting Manager and responsibilities.
- Responsible for fixed assets for North America and APAC. Ensures assets are set up properly for book and tax in correct classification and years of service.
- Works with Operations Finance and Cost Accounting to ensure all product, inventory and manufacturing costs are accurately stated and accounts are reconciled.
- Develops KPI metrics for all team members and holds team members responsible for meeting them.
- Lead external audit contact. Prepares and reviews all schedules required for year-end financial statement audit and 401(k) plan and coordinates the Audit leadership.
- Manage assigned general accounting functions and supports accounting team where and when necessary.
- Advise on the application of GAAP to financial transactions and statements. Assist with implementation of new standards applicable to the Company.
- Develop and update financial policies and procedures.
- Recommend and drive continuous improvement of accounting processes.
- Analyze accounting options to support decision-making efforts.
- Develop and manage the internal audit function to ensure policies, procedures and segregation of duties are being complied with.
- Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
- Audit substantive financial transactions. Assist in completion of other assigned audit activities.
- Assist with special projects as required.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- B.S. degree in Accounting
- CPA designation preferred
- 7+ years minimum experience
- Corporate manufacturing experience or public accounting firm experience including affiliations with successful manufacturing companies, direct experience with manufacturing firms, or a combination of both
Specific Skills:
- Working knowledge of automated accounting systems and well-developed financial analysis capabilities
- Excellent technical skills (GAAP and GAAS)
- Continuous improvement focused
