About the role

The Position:

You absolutely love data (unstructured and structured), testing hypotheses, and arriving at data-driven recommendations that have an immediate impact on the business. You are passionate about communicating insights as much as you are about discovering them in the first place. You constantly ask questions about how to use analytics to improve the business. Is there a better way to identify responsive customer? Who is the best lender we should match to a customer? Are there new data sources out there that would help us make better decisions?

You can transform business problems and questions into analytical frameworks. You will ensure that our cross-functional leadership teams have the data, insights, and recommendations needed to make high-stakes decisions about our marketing strategies. You will sit at the table and form part of the decision makers on these decisions as well. Unlike some analytics functions, you are not a service provider. You're a thought leader to the business, owning end-to-end analytic work streams, defining success and performance metrics, and delivering actionable insights and recommendations for cross functional groups and partners

This Principal of Marketing Analytics will be an integral and embedded partner with our Growth Marketing team and help shape our site and marketing performance reporting. This role is critical to our success as we evolve the way in which we measure, optimize, and broaden our channels.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Research analytics to unpack new audiences, new signals and new strategies for our channel managers and marketing teams.
  • Make recommendations around media mix and investments based on site and media analytics.
  • Develop a cadence and suite of reports to deliver concise and actionable recommendations.
  • Lead conversations into causation, attribution, incremental lift and multi-touch attribution to drive consistency and alignment on attribution.
  • Collaborate on tech stack technology and platform requirements needed to support our needs and accelerate velocity of innovation.
  • Develop new initiatives for business impact and organizational excellence, working with stakeholders and partners across the Data and Technology organization

Requirements:

  • 8 - 10 years of proven experience in Marketing Analytics and Growth Marketing (bonus: consumer finance, subscription, or other B2C and D2C businesses)
  • You have a bachelor’s degree or deep expertise in Quantitative Marketing, Statistics, Econometrics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.

  • Proficiency in relevant software packages such as MySQL, R, Python, DataRobot, Excel, Exchange Cube
  • Be fully versed and have hands on expertise in measurement platforms like GA4 and Adobe as well as tagging and taxonomy creation.
  • Substantial experience in analytics, providing both technical and strategic leadership - you're a problem solver with strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of how media and site measurement models across all media and platforms e.g. MTA, MMM, GA4, Adobe, Facebook, YouTube, etc. as well as DV360, Yahoo, and CTV.
  • Superior problem-solving skills. You know how to rip apart difficult problems and construct elegant solutions.
  • Strategic toolkit: you can focus an organization on the key business levers and not get caught in the million daily tasks. You see the forest and the trees.
  • Pragmatic: you know the 80/20 rule, and know when to boil the ocean and when not to. The solutions you develop are understandable and implementable.
  • Self-directed. You check in regularly with your boss, but you can run with a ton of autonomy.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Ability and comfort of working with C-level executives
  • Team player.  Not political.  You play nice with others. People like working with you.

  • Experience working with digital marketing (PPC) and consumer websites. Transaction-based B2C sites preferred
  • Close coordination and knowledge/data sharing with counterparts who share goals and responsibilities
