From improving economic performance and creating jobs to fostering strong education and fighting international tax evasion, we provide a unique forum and knowledge hub for data and analysis, exchange of experiences, best-practice sharing, and advice on public policies and international standard-setting.</p><p>The National Accounts Division (NAD) works on <a href="https://www.oecd.org/sdd/na/">national accounts</a><u>,</u> which includes important indicators such as GDP, GNI, government debt and national net worth, and on the System of Environmental-Economic Accounting (<a href="https://www.oecd.org/sdd/eea/">SEEA</a>), providing important insights in the relation between the economy and the environment. NAD is part of the <a href="http://www.oecd.org/sdd">Statistics and Data Directorate (SDD)</a>, which is the focal point for the OECD’s cutting-edge work on statistics and data, providing evidence on a comparable basis and from a variety of sources to analysts, policy makers, and members of civil society and ensuring the quality of all OECD data. SDD develops new metrics and innovative digital tools to address emerging policy issues, leads the development of international statistical standards, advances statistical methodology, and co-ordinates statistical and data-related activities within the OECD and with other international organisations. The Directorate currently employs more than 90 staff members who support statistical work across a broad range of <a href="https://data.oecd.org/">policy areas</a>.</p><p>SDD is seeking an experienced national accountant or environmental accountant to i) lead and contribute to NAD’s national accounts methods and guidance to support the implementation of the 2025 System of National Accounts  ii) contribute to the revision of macro-economic standards such as the SEEA Central Framework and the Government Finance Statistics (GFS) Manual, iii) undertake and oversee research and projects contributing to the OECD’s national accounts agenda including in areas such as wellbeing, sustainability, and digitalization, and iv) co-ordinate and direct the work of some of NAD’s compiler teams.</p><p>The successful candidate will also contribute to the statistical reviews of the national accounts in countries applying to join the OECD (known as ‘accession candidate countries’).  The successful candidate will report directly to the Head of NAD.</p><h3>Job Description</h3><p><strong>Main Responsibilities</strong></p><p>Analytical Leadership and Research</p><ul><li>Keep abreast of policy and measurement issues in the field of national  and environmental-economic accounts, undertake and lead research on such issues and produce timely responses.</li><li>Provide intellectual leadership, guidance and training on conceptual and practical issues in the area of national accounts and contribute actively to advance methodological discussions with other international organisations.</li><li>Draft working papers, articles, briefs and other publications relating to national and environmental-economic accounts.</li><li>Make presentations, as required, at meetings of the OECD Working Parties on National Accounts and on Financial Statistics, and the Conference on National Economic and Financial Accounts, and other OECD bodies or expert groups.</li><li>In collaboration with SDD’s Global Relations Unit, conduct statistical reviews of the national accounts and the SEEA in countries applying to join the OECD (the statistical reviews will include collection of information, evaluation of data coverage, quality and international comparability, and transmission of data and metadata to the OECD).</li></ul><p>Collaboration and Representation</p><ul><li>Develop and maintain good professional contacts with senior officials in countries (including from national statistical offices and national central banks) and international organisations.</li><li>Represent the OECD in national and international meetings on national accounts and environmental-economic accounts topics and contribute to workshops and seminars.</li></ul><p>Management and Team Leadership</p><ul><li>Supervise, motivate and contribute to the professional development of staff in NAD.</li><li>Organise, co-ordinate and direct the work of some of NAD’s compiler teams, overseeing the efficient collection, processing and storage of statistics, and the improvement of data management and disseminat
