Your Specific Responsibilities:

• Uses multiple computer applications to set appointments for Dental and Medical services. 

• Answer incoming calls and provide general information about Department of Health’s services.  

• Verify insurance. 

• Transfer calls accordingly.   

• Realay electronic messages to medical services staff.    

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to prioritize work, identify changing priorities and adjust as needed. 

• Ability to self-monitor work for accuracy and maximum productivity 

• Ability to use multiple computer programs and software such as Microsoft office to retrieve and/or input data. 

• Strong internal and external customer service skills 

• Ability to independently solve problems 

• Strong verbal and written communication skills in addition to good listening skills, including the ability to speak English and Spanish fluently.  

• Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with others 

• Knowledge of patient confidentially laws 

• Ability to work with a diverse population 

• Ability to review data for accuracy and completeness 

• Knowledge of medical insurance 

• Ability to prepare accurate reports and correspondence  

 

Qualifications:

Minimum -

•  At least 1 years of computer experience 
• At least 1 years’ experience working in a fast-paced customer service position 

Preferred -

• Bilingual in Spanish and English
• Experience working with different health insurances, including Medicaid
• At least 1 year experience working in a medical office setting
• At least one year of Call Center Experience
