Exciting Opportunity: Join Our Team as a Senior Architect!

Position Overview:
Are you a visionary architect passionate about transforming complex systems and driving digital innovation? We are seeking a dynamic Senior Architect to join our team and lead the solution architecture, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), and digital engineering efforts for the USTRANSCOM Joint Transportation Management System (JTMS). This is a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of a large-scale enterprise modernization initiative, integrating transportation, logistics, and financial business processes through a cutting-edge COTS/ERP-based system.

Why You’ll Love This Role:

  • Innovate at Scale: Be part of a groundbreaking project that redefines transportation and logistics for the Department of Defense.

  • Lead with Impact: Take charge of defining and governing end-to-end architecture products, ensuring seamless traceability from mission needs to solution design.

  • Shape the Future: Drive our digital engineering strategy, aligning with DoD transformation objectives and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.

Responsibilities:

  • Architectural Leadership: Spearhead the development and maintenance of comprehensive architecture products for JTMS, utilizing MBSE methodologies and DoDAF/UAF frameworks.

  • Systems Modeling: Create and manage detailed system models in SysML/UML, capturing requirements, workflows, interfaces, and mission threads with full traceability.

  • Digital Engineering Strategy: Champion the adoption of the digital thread, model repositories, and model-driven decision support throughout the program lifecycle.

  • Solution Design: Convert business and operational requirements into robust, scalable solution architectures that support COTS/ERP implementations.

  • Integration & Interoperability: Define and implement integration patterns, interface specifications, and interoperability requirements across diverse systems.

  • Governance & Reviews: Establish and maintain architecture governance, modeling standards, and design review processes, presenting to senior leadership.

  • Collaborative Excellence: Work closely with cross-functional teams to address gaps, mitigate risks, and ensure seamless integration across domains.

  • Future-Ready Planning: Contribute to the development of technology roadmaps, transition plans, and business process reengineering initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.

  • Experience: 7+ years in enterprise/system/solution architecture for large-scale federal or DoD IT programs, with 5+ years in MBSE and Digital Engineering.

  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in SysML, UML, DoDAF/UAF, and MBSE tools like Cameo Systems Modeler or Sparx EA. Experience with enterprise integration, APIs, and data architecture.

  • Communication Skills: Strong ability to present technical briefings and architecture documentation to executive-level audiences.

  • Security Clearance: US Citizenship is required with an ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Advanced Degree: Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, or related field.

  • Clearance: Active DoD Secret clearance.

  • Relevant Experience: Direct experience with USTRANSCOM, DoD logistics, or ERP modernization programs. Familiarity with digital twin, AI/ML integration, and cloud-based architectures.

  • Tool Enhancement: Experience extending MBSE tool capabilities through scripting or APIs.

  • Modern Tech Stack: Knowledge of DevSecOps pipelines or zero trust architectures in DoD environments.
