Overview
Pavilion 5 is a 30-bed med-surg unit with a focus on oncology patients. Our unit provides compassionate, cutting-edge care for patients battling cancer. We are proud to be among the select facilities offering Tumor Infiltrating Lymphocytes (TIL) therapy, a revolutionary form of immunotherapy, and in our ongoing commitment to providing state-of-the-art treatments, we are preparing to introduce stem cell transplant capabilities. With a focus on both innovative treatment approaches and holistic patient care, Pavilion 5 is at the forefront of cancer care. The floor is staffed by a team of oncologists, nurses, and support staff who are committed to ensuring the best possible outcomes for patients and we are proud to be the winners of the 2024 Nurse Excellence Team Award
Short Description
Assumes responsibility and accountability for the direction, implementation and evaluation of patient care services within the assigned unit at the direction of the Clinical Director and in his/her absence.
This role is broad in scope and requires the ability to work independently and apply a high degree of judgment.
Assigns work load and assumes responsibility for the operational functioning of the department.
Ensures the delivery of patient care through the coordination of customer services and the leadership and management of the nursing unit at the direction of the Clinical Director.
Assists the Clinical Director in coordinating interdepartmental and ancillary activities to ensure quality, cost-effective patient care.
Assists the Clinical Manager in directing the preparation and maintenance of patient’s clinical record, including nursing and medical treatments and related services provided by the Registered Nurse.
Assists the Clinical Director in leading the patient care team to meet the needs of the customers and to achieve departmental objectives.
Assists the Clinical Director in ensuring that the staff participates in educational activities and the evaluation process to enhance their personal growth and development
Acting as a liaison between nursing and medical staff, serving as a problem-solver and mediator for positive change; develops and maintains effective intra and interdepartmental relationships.
Experience Required
A minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with 1 year of demonstrated leadership abilities.
Requires strong planning skills and a solid understanding of Patient and Family Centered Care.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
Education Requirements
Graduate of NLN-accredited School of Nursing
License/Certification Requirements
Current New Jersey license as a Registered Nurse, BLS certification.
National certification within area of specialty required for critical care, operating room, endoscopy and trauma.
Certain specialties may require advanced certification (i.e. ACLS, NRP, PALS).
Special Requirements
Scheduled Days/ Hours: 4 x 10-hour shifts; weekend coverage as needed
9:00 am - 7:30 pm
